about me
Kristie's three mints in a bowl: her camera, her shades, and her passport.
Kristie's real name is Hoang Yen Le, who hails from a Vietnamese family of 4. Her parents and her sister, not to mention over 50 relatives from extended family. Born and raised in Moscow, Russia, she's always been proud to be part of both rich and bustling, yet absolutely opposite cultures.
Although her parents were business entrepreneurs,, they never forgot to infuse their children with beauty of art, music and foreign languages. From a young age, Kristie dedicated her free time to playing piano, drawing, and learning English. In high school, she received her first camera from her parents when she became more curious about the world of photography.
Fast forward to her junior year at Tufts, she still uses Nikon D5000 and shoots with a 35mm lens, f1.8. She has since acquired a relatively diverse collection of her travel and food adventures in Vietnam, Taiwan, Singapore, Boston, NYC, San Francisco, Washington DC...
She is passionate about helping others whenever she has a chance. She is involved in various community service projects and captures those precious chapters of her life through a small camera lens.
Her hobbies are learning new foreign languages, from Japanese to Spanish, reading food blogs and tweets about digital marketing, cooking, dining and fashion. She is fascinated by the differences and commonalities in world cultures and finds herself watching documentaries on different Asian cultures in her free time. She loves Japanese anime, K-pop, manga, Asian food.
For her personal project, she wants to create her own food blog that reflects diversity of cuisines of the cities she travels to and the emotion that each evokes on herself and the people she encounters. For her career, Kristie aspires to leverage analytics and passion for the creative and the digital to tell stories that create emotional impact.
